Boost your laser power with Taranis module

Fibercryst pioneered the Single Crystal Fiber amplifier (SCF) technology and developed the Taranis module* benefiting from a unique, patented, water cooling solution for high power pumping. Combined with high power laser diode, Taranis module allows to easily amplify your seed laser, in continuous or pulsed regime.

Taranis module can amplify:
– a pulsed seed laser (from a few kHz to several tens of MHz),
– a seed laser (from several tens ns down to a few hundred fs) with seed powers ranging from a few hundred of mW up to several tens of W

 

*Taranis is an industrial component with no adjustments: the only requirements are proper alignment and focusing of the seed laser.

Why you will choose SCF technology?


Single Crystal Fiber (SCF) amplifiers are the best solution to amplify short pulse lasers in a MOPA (Master Oscillator power amplifier) configuration. They do not suffer from the strongly aberrant thermal lensing effect (that degrades the beam in bulk crystal amplifiers for instance).

SFC technology with Taranis module is a good solution to reach high power, energy and gain at the same time. It combines the advantages of optical fiber and bulk crystal.
Moreover, the simplicity of the implementation and the small space requirements make it easy to use.

Taranis modules are available with Yb:YAG (Ytterbium) or Nd:YAG (Neodymium) material with a doping rate of 1% or 2%.

* The gain is very sensitive to the spectral bandwidth of the seed laser. The simulations above were achieved with a narrow spectral bandwidth < 3nm. If you wish use a seed laser with a bandwidth larger than 3 nm, please contact us.
